As I prayed before The Mother for the fulfillment and realization of my aspiration and for the progress of ASPIRATION, She blessed me through Savitri:
“Well hast thou done and I approve thy choice.
If this is all, then all is surely well;
If there is more, then all can still be well.
Whether it seem good or evil to men's eyes,
Only for good the secret Will can work.
Our destiny is written in double terms:
Through Nature's contraries we draw nearer God;
Out of the darkness we still gro… Continue
Beyond all sufferings, beyond all sin and fall, beyond all struggles and tussles and wrestles of human life, there a Truth, a Hope — the ensured Hope of the Dawn, of the Sunrise after the Darkest of the Dark Nights. There is the ensured Hope of the Eternal Joy after Time, and even after Death! There are Dreams of Hope and Joy and Victory beyond all the harsh realities and sins and falls of life — Dreams which are more real than life.
“One step and there is all sky and God” — Sri Aurob… Continue
The Task before us is to change the world — from the imperfect mental world to the Supramental World of Perfection, the New World.
But why? And how?
Why:
Some fifty thousand to more than a million years back, the early human beings started their journey on earth, definitely with hopes for Joy and Bliss, for satisfaction and fulfilment, for conquering diseases and Death, with inquisition and thirst for knowledge in their eyes and their fresh undisturbed intelligence. They marched onwards and c… Continue

More than seventy-five years back, The Mother, gave us a Call:
“Leaving the past far behind us, let us run towards a luminous future.”
The luminous future was not only a dream, not only a hope : though the words created some aspiring dreams in some people and had arisen some hopes, some inspired hopes in some people. It was a direction given by The Mother to the human race. We were asked to transcend our past and run towards the luminous certitude in Future.
The Future of… Continue

27. God is a great and cruel Torturer because He loves. You do not understand this, because you have not seen and played with Krishna.
[Sri Aurobindo: Thoughts and Aphorisms]
According to Sri Aurobindo, The Divine has three aspects: Transcendental, Universal and Individual. The Original Supreme, beyond all Manifestation, is the Transcendental aspect of the Divine. Pure Existence — to be more exact, Existence-Consciousness-Bliss i.e. Sat-Chit- Ananda — is the Transcendental… Continue

26. Sir Philip Sidney said of the criminal led out to be hanged, "There, but for the grace of God, goes Sir Philip Sidney." Wiser, had he said, "There, by the grace of God, goes Sir Philip Sidney."
[Sri Aurobindo: Thoughts and Aphorisms]
Sir Philip Sidney was a successful statesman and a poet, and yet he was a man of humility. He was famous for his humble nature. Once, when he saw a criminal when he was going to be hanged, he expressed: “There, but for the Grace of God, goes Sir Philips… Continue
Happy Solstice!
25th December is celebrated as the Day of Light, since long before the Birth of Jesus. Stated below is what The Mother said about the 25th Day of December.
"25 December 1950
[A disciple explains to the children that the shortest day of the year corresponds to the greatest declination of the sun to the south, about the 21st of December; then the sun again mounts to the north.]
Mother comments:
That is why the 25th of December was a festival of Light long before Jesus Chris… Continue
25. When I see others suffer, I feel that I am unfortunate, but the wisdom that is not mine, sees the good that is coming and approves.
[Sri Aurobindo: Thoughts and Aphorisms]
When others are suffering, one may feel that one is unfortunate, because one has to see and experience others’ sufferings. That may be the example of a kind heart, where there is sympathy and feeling for others. But it does not have the touch of a Higher Wisdom.
It is the Wisdom of the Supreme, which a pers… Continue

To the ordinary human understanding and sight, Sri Aurobindo is said to have passed away on the 5th day of December 1950. Several persons have described this as the passing away of The Master — an Event that seemed to bring huge shadows of sorrows on the followers of The Master and The Mother. People in huge numbers paid their last respects to Him, till the 9th day of December 1950.
To men in general, it was only, or mainly, a departure, a passing away, as billions a… Continue
Bengali singer Nachiketa sang a song : Manushgulō satyikaarer maanush hobe kobe? Recently I happened to listen to it, though I heard it earlier also. The line quoted here means: When will the human beings be truly human?
But it was seemingly a coincidence that I came across an essay by Arhata Osho, a friend of mine, bearing the title “Monkeys to Humanoids” which I have also published in my B… Continue
In ASPIRATION, Lalit Kumar published on 18-11-2009 a photograph of Sri Aurobindo in 1950: http://newreflexions.ning.com/photo/photo/show?id=2226800%3APhoto%3A11816 .
I commented there as follows: Jyotirasi jyotirmayi dhehi. Thou art Light, so, cause Light descend on me.Kalpana in her comment made a request as follows:
''Jyotirasi jyotirmayi dhehi.''
Thou art Light, so, cause Light d… Continue
The Mother, Mira Alfassa, walked into the New Body on the 17th day of November 1973. She left Her physical body and walked and entered into the then newly formed Supramental Body. The World knew and told that She has passed away.
It is said that The Mother withdrew Herself on the 17th day of November in 1973. However, we will see that in reality, in the highest meaning and sense of the term ‘reality’, The Mother continues eternally — in a NEW BODY.

Sri Aurobindo was the last Avatar in a human body.
That is what The Mother has said.
She has also said that Sri Aurobindo would return, but NOT in a human body — NOT in a body born as a human being or of a human being. And His return may even be as late as five hundred years from his departure.
I have said earlier also that according to The Mother, Sri Aurobindo was an emanation of the Supreme. He was / is an Avatar of The Supreme. He came to transcend the Overmind consciousness and to cause t… Continue
24. When I pine at misfortune and call it evil, or am jealous and disappointed, then I know that there is awake in me again the eternal fool.
[Sri Aurobindo: Thoughts and Aphorisms]
When the consequence of some of our actions is not as expected, or when there is some setback, we consider it to be a misfortune. And also we call it an evil.
Further, often, as a reaction of the said misfortune, we find in ourselves jealousy and misfortune. When our interest is not felt or fulfilled, there… Continue
Sri Aurobindo on Gandhi
Sri Aurobindo expressed his views on Mahatma Gandhi mainly to his disciples. And some events do express their mutual understanding of each other. Quoted below are some of the sayings of Sri Aurobindo on the Mahatma.
July 23, 1923A disciple: The Mahatma believes that non-violence purifies the man who practices it.
I believe Gandhi does not know what actually happens to the man’s nature when he takes to Satyagraha or non-violence. He thinks that me… Continue
21. Forgiveness is praised by the Christian and the Vaishnava, but for me, I ask, "What have I to forgive and whom ?"
22. God struck me with a human hand; shall I say then, "I pardon Thee thy insolence, O God" ?
23. God gave me good in a blow. Shall I say, "I forgive thee, O Almighty One, the harm and the cruelty, but do it not again" ?
[Sri Aurobindo: Thoughts and Aphorisms]
Forgiveness is a great virtue, it has been said. However, when there is the Supreme Realization, one has the iden… Continue
