Lovely to experience the vivid image, through poetic words! Brings back memories of the Krishna-dark sky and the Radha bright flowers! The Mother has given Bougainvillea the spiritual significance of 'protection'. ''Clusters of two or more different…

One is always struck anew by the panoramic view of Savitiri, conveying both the grandeur and squalor ! ''on Time's inconstant wheel'' I am intrigued by this description of Time as inconstant. Would be interested to hear views from a current scient…

The use of an object [material or imagined] to help to focus the mind[dharana/dhyana], and to lead it to a more abstract/formless stage [samadhi] is a well known traditional practice in many yogas traditions. For example, hatha-yoga may use yantras…

Please tell us something about yourself.
Sri Aurobindo Ashram [1969-73].
Mother's darshan, personal letters and touch of Her Hand on my ignorant head. These blessings keep the spark of Aspiration alive in my heart, in life in the so-called 'real' world.
Mother spoke of a Golden chain connecting all Her children, may each bead shine bright!

''Savitri alone is sufficient to make you climb to the highest peaks. If truly one knows how to meditate on Savitri, one will receive all the help one needs. For him who wishes to follow this path, it is a concrete help as though the Lord himself were taking you by the hand and leading you to the destined goal. And then, every question, however personal it may be, has its answer here, every difficulty finds its solution herein; indeed there is everything that is necessary for doing the Yoga.''

Never Despair, Light is Here!

The difficult is not the impossible, as Sri Aurobindo reminds us to keep a strong faith in our Ideal to become Real!

''The way to get faith and all things else is to insist on having them and refuse to flag or despair or give up until one has them - it is the way by which everything has been got since this difficult earth began to have thinking and aspiring creatures upon it. It is to open always, always to the Light and turn one's back on the Darkness. It is to refuse the voices that saContinue

Imagine and Realise- Verses to bring Harmony to your Heart, from Savitri

May we imagine this, until it is materialised and realised![a very uplifting, inspiring canto]:

''Imagination's great ensorcelling rod
Summoned the unknown and gave to it a home,
Outspread luxuriantly in golden air
Truth's iris-coloured wings of fantasy,
Or sang to the intuitive heart of joy
Wonder's dream-notes that bring the Real close.
Its power that makes the unknowable near and true,
In the temple of the ideal shrined the One:
It peopled thought and mind and happy sense
Filled

Sole Reliance on the Divine vs anything/anyone

The quotation below, from the Mother, struck me as a very powerful and clear reminder, in no uncertain terms, aimed at those of us who have chosen to follow the Yoga of Mother and Sri Aurobindo The problem arises when we start saying...'but...if...this/that'. Like anything, it needs to be practised regularly to have effect. It does not of course mean that we become indifferent to others, but we see relationships etc in the Light of Mother and Sri Aurobindo, and it makes life more enriched… Continue

Many hearts, One Aspiration

These words of the Mother are a call to all who consider themselves Her children:

''We all who have a common uplifting ideal, shall unite;
and in this union and by this union we will face and overcome
the attacks of all opposing forces of darkness and devastation.
In union is the strength, in union is the power,
in union the certitude of Victory."- The Mother [CWMCE, 14:208-09]

What is the best and unfailing reward?

These words from the Mother give such wonderful reassurance, when we are faced with the confusing challenges of everyday life and relationships:

''You see, in the present condition of the world, circumstances are always difficult. The whole world is in a condition of strife, conflict, between the forces of truth and light wanting to manifest and the opposition of all that does not want to change, which represents in the past what is fixed, hardened and refuses to go. Naturally, each indivContinue

Hey Kalpana,
Sorry I haven't been around--torqued my back after Thanksgiving! Yikes! This is about the 2nd or 3rd day I've been able to really sit in my chair. Geez, huh? LOL

At any rate, yeah, I definitely think it would be interesting to do some blogging on the integration of illness and meditation with the creative aspect--I know that's not as eloquent as you put it, but I don't have my page pulled up! ;) I'll have to give it some thought. I'm about at the end of my chair tolerance for the day, though, so I must go for now. I will return soon, tho.

Thanks for your thoughts!
Hugs and BB,
Jen :)
